AWAI Bootcamp Was Fantastic

Being Surrounded by Successful People

Published on November 4, 2011 by Dr Cathy

I spent a few high-powered, densely packed days at Del Ray Beach, Florida attending the AWAI yearly Bootcamp. I missed last year's Bootcamp because my nephew and godson decided to get married to his beloved Julie on that particular weekend. I was soooo excited to be going to this year's AWAI Bootcamp.

I had high expectations and, let me tell you, in no way was I let down. In every session I took away at least one, and often many more, nuggets of information. Some of my golden nuggets had to do with this blog… and have to do with you as my reader.

Although there were excellent presentations on copy writing, there were two take-aways that had nothing specifically to do with the process of copywriting. What are they?

1. You can make a six figure income IN ONE YEAR if you follow the plan.

Have you ever heard the saying, "It only takes one white raven to disprove the belief that all ravens are black?" Think about it. I have another:

It only takes one person who follows a plan, and achieves her goal of a six figure income in one year, to prove it can be done. Mindy Tyson McHorse proved it this year. In one year she made the commitment to herself, as well as stating it to others, that she would make $100,000 in 2011. She exceeded her goal by $500.

You might be thinking, "Sure, she can do it. I have a family to take care of. I bet she didn't have that." You'd be wrong. She was pregnant at the time she made that commitment to herself. Her new young 'un and husband were with her during the Bootcamp. She set a goal, made a commitment to herself, had a daily accountability group, followed the plan and succeeded. She did this in one year. If she can do it, I can do it, you can do it. Just need to do what she did.

2. I'm a marketing strategist who has copywriting as one of my tools.

You can have the most persuasively written advertising copy, but if you don't have a way to get it in front of your prospective customers, then all those wonderful words mean absolutely nothing. Your words have to where your prospects can see them. You have to have a marketing strategy to get your carefully crafted words where you want them.

Your marketing strategy consists of when, where and how you are going to market what you do. Are you going to work on lead generation either on-line or by direct mail? Perhaps you will do some article marketing. How about working with some JV (joint venture partners)? What is your plan for keeping track of your clients… and, of course, much, much more.

Although I thoroughly enjoy writing, I also enjoy putting the pieces together of a complete marketing plan. I take great pleasure in seeing what works and what doesn't work. I'm a problem solver and a creative one at that.

If you'd like to begin modifying or putting your marketing plan together, let me know and we'll get started.  Just go to: to get started.
